Incroyable soiree au stade Olympique avec de l'argent pour Kevin Mayer en decathlon et du bronze pour le fantastique Christophe Lemaitre ! Et j'ai vu Usain Bolt en chair et en os ! 

Incredible evening at the Olympic stadium with a silver medal for Kevin Mayer in decathlon and a bronze one for the fantastic Christophe Lemaitre ! And i saw Usain Bolt for real ! 

14 aout / 14th August. 

Entre le fait d'etre un dimanche et le marathon feminin des JO le centre ville etait completement bloque, impossible d acces ou presque en transports en communs et tout etait ferme. J ai quand meme ete faire un tour mais je suis vite rentree a l hotel car il faisait extremement chaud. Tele et lecture au programme donc ! 

Between the fact of being a Sundzy and the women marathon of the Olympics the centre of the city was completely blocked, almost impossible to access in public transport and everything was closed. I nontheless did a tour but i went quickly back to the hotel because of the heat. Tv and reading then ! 

15 aout / 15th august

visite du jardin botanique avec son allee de palmiers (plantes a l ouverture du parc), ses plantes tropicales et sa serre aux 200 sortes d orchidees !

visiti of the botznical garden with its palm tree alley (they were planted for the opening of that parc), its tropical plants and its orchidarium with 200 types of orchideas !

16 aout / 16th august

visite du X Park olympique le matin (site des sports extremes) puis direction le club France pour un apres midi et une soiree olympique (et les larmes de Renaud Lavillenie)

visit of the olympic x park in the morning (extreme sport venue) and then to the Club France for an afternoon and evening of olympism (and the tears of Renaud Lavillenie)

17 aout / 17th August 

Premier jour de travail aujourd'hui ! Les series du BMx pour determiner les positions de depart pour les qualifications de demain, sous un soleil de plomb mais terriblement interessant ! 

First day at work today ! The BLX series to determine the starting positions for tomorrow qualifications. The heat was awful but it was really interesting ! 

un seul post pour les trois derniers jours mais comme prevu une photo par jour ! 

Only one post for the last three days but as planned one pic per day ! 

11 aout - 11th August

Deuxieme journee olympique avec au programme du handball masculin le matin (deux matchs) puis le boulevard olympique en bird de mer avec ses animations et surtout retransmission des epreuves sur ecran geant ! 

Second olympic day with on the menu two male handball games in the morning and then a stroll on the olympic boulevard next to the sea with its animations but mostly the live on giant screens ! 

12 aout - 12th august 

visite le matin du zoo avec decouvertes de nombreux oiseaux et singes locaux, feijoada traditionnelle a midi puis visite du "musee national" un peu decevant par sa petitesse mais neanmoins interessant avec une belle collection sur les indigenes du Bresil. Fin de journee au club France qui etait definitivement l'endroit ou il fallait etre : ambiance de folie pour les epreuves ou les athletes francais etaient engages, dedicace personnalisee des rameurs medailles d'or du matin meme (aviron deux de couple poids leger) et fete aux medailles le soir avec tout les medailles du jour ! 

Visit of the zoo in the morning with discovery of many birds and monkeys specific to the country, traditional feijoada for lunch and then visit of the "national museum" disappointing by its small size but nonetheless interesting with a great collection of native tribes of Brazil. End of the day in club france, The place to be : crazy atmosphere to watch all the events where French competed, personalized dedicace of the gold medalist sailors of the morning, medalist party in the evening with all the winners of the day ! 

13 aout - 13th august 

journee repos et detente sur la plage d'Ipanema. Pas trop de monde contrairement a ce que je craignais par contre les vagues, ideales pour le surf, rendent la baignade tres compliquee. 

Day of rest and relaxing on Ipanema beach. Not too many people as I feared, but the waves, ideal for surfing, make bathing quite challenging. 

Journee olympique avec deux matchs de handball feminin au programme. Decouverte du parc olympique, gigantesque mais vraiment excitant ! 

Olympic day with two female handball games today. Discovery of the gigantic and exciting olympic park ! 

Une journee eprouvante mais riche en émotions puisque je suis montee a pied (2h de marche ardue dans la foret tropicale)    au Corcovado afin d'admirer la statue mais aussi la vue. C'est majestueux et tres emouvant d etre la. 

A long but rich in emotion day as i walked up (2h of hard hike in the tropical forest) the corcovado to see both the view and the statue. It is majestic and moving to be there. 

A defaut de pouvoir monter au Corcovado recouvert de nuages je suis montee au pain de sucre, en telepherique, pour admirer la vue sur les deux cotes de la baie de Rio. Le paysage est incroyable et, au sommet, un sentier a travers la foret tropicale nous emmene a la rencontre de plantes et animaux locaux tels que les MIKO (petits singes). fin de journee sur la plage au pied du pain de sucre puis au club France. 

As the corcovado was completely full of clouds i went up the sugar loaf, with cable car, too admire the view on both sides of Rio bay. The scenery is wonderful and, at the very top, a path through the tropical forest allows us to discover local plants and ani.mals such as the MIKO (marmoset monkey). End of the day on the small beach down the hill and then at Club France. 

au programme aujourd'hui : Copacabana ! J'ai passe quasiment toute la journee a la plage avec pour resultat final de beaux coups de soleil malgre la creme solaire. Les vagues de l'ocean sont enormes mais l'eau est assez agreable. Beaucoup d'animation sur la plage avec de nombreux camelots, j'ai goute caipirinha (bon!) et eau de. coco (bof) ! 

Progrm of the day : Copacabana ! I spent almost all day at the beach with end result big sunburns despite sunscreen,. The waves of the ocean are huge but water is good. A lot of people passing by on the beach and especially street sellers. I tasted. The caipirinha (good!) and the cocoa water (not so good) 

Apres un copieux petit dejeuner a l'hotel (tres frequente par les volontaires) j'ai pris la direction de la "Cidade do Samba" (l'endroit ou toutes les ecoles de Samba de Rio preparent leurs chars de Carnaval) pour aller retirer mon uniforme de volontaire et mon accreditation pour pouvoir acceder a l'endroit ou je travaillerais. L'uniforme est vraiment sympa mais je ne commencerais a la porter que le. 17 pour mon premier jour de travail. 

After a very nourishing breakfast at the hotel (very crowded by volunteers) i went to the "Cidade do Samba" (the place where all the samba groups prepare the carnival parade) to pick up my uniform and accreditation to access my olympic venue. The uniform is really nice but ill stqrt wearing it only on the 17 for my first day of work. 

Apres presque 24h de trajet (train, avions, taxis) je suis arrivée a Rio en début d'après midi. Mes premières impressions sur la ville : une végétation luxuriante, le soleil, une ville a taille plus humaine que Sao Paulo.
Hier soir direction le club France pour la cérémonie d'ouverture : 1h45 d'attente pour entrer mais ça valait vraiment le coup !! Une très belle cérémonie, qui augure de très bon JO !

After almost 24h on the road (train, planes, taxis) i arrived in Rio in the beginning of the afternoon. My first impressions : beautiful trees and plants, sun, a city more human sized than sao paulo.
Yesterday evening i went to the club France for the opening ceremony : 1.45h of wait to go in but it was worth it ! A very beautiful ceremony which starts great Games !!!!
